Best Time to Hike in Lofoten
June to September is when most people hike here – and for good reason. The trails are clear, the days are long, and on a good day there is nowhere quite like it.
That said, Lofoten weather does not follow a neat schedule. Snow can sit on the high routes well into June. A calm morning can turn stormy by the time you reach the summit. And the difference between a great day and a dangerous one can be a matter of hours.
This guide covers what to expect each month – trail conditions, daylight, and how busy the islands get. Every hike on this site also shows a live weather reading so you know what you are heading into before you set off.
