Nubben is a small mountain on Flakstadøy, near Ramberg in Lofoten. Though only 240 meters high, the climb is quite steep from start to finish. Despite its short distance, the hike offers fantastic views and is well worth the effort. It typically takes around 30 minutes to reach the summit at a steady pace.
The hike to Nubben begins near the Bunnpris grocery store in Ramberg, where you can park. From there, cross the road and follow the path leading towards the local youth center, UL Lysbøen. Continue past a large water tower, this marks the beginning of the well-defined trail heading up the mountainside.
As you gain elevation, the path remains clear but steep. At around 200 meters, the trail splits. Taking the right path leads to Nubben’s summit, while the left path continues toward Moltinden, a taller and more demanding peak at 696 meters. If you’re looking for a short and enjoyable hike, stick to the right.
Once at the top, you’re rewarded with a spectacular view. From here, you can see Ramberg and its famous white-sand beach Rambergstranda, the peaks of Moskenesøya, and the open ocean stretching toward the horizon. On clear days, the landscape is truly breathtaking.
Directly across the street (E10) from the trailhead, at the shopping center, you will find plenty of parking spots.
